Surprise~~~ We're Married!

Yesterday, we've been busy. We are trying to look for a "short-cut" to ROM. We went to the registry of marriage to fill out some initial paperwork and they gave us a paper of "to-do" list.

In brief, we need:

  1. Statutory Declaration made at the local High Court,
  2. Birth cert, passport
  3. 2 Passport size photographs
  4. Application form
... and that's what the website told us too! We are then heading to a lawyer firm for the declaration. Then, back again to the marriage registration office for the approval and made payment. After we done all the legal stuff, we went to the appointed Assistant Registrar of Marriages office. Before the marriage is solemnized, we must provide the Assistant Registrar of Marriages the prescribed statutory declaration signed by us saying that we have complied with all the requirements and that there are no legal obstacles. In less than 10 minutes at the office on March 8, 2007, 11am, we were pronounced husband and wife.

We've done all these by ourselves, in just a day which save us lots of time. We are legally married before the actual big ceremony with friends and relatives. And then we will have the official wedding reception on November 18, 2007 in JB. So, yeah, we are drawing this thing out as long as possible.
